What's new in the Superfund Research Program?
The NIEHS-funded Superfund Research Program

This program is part of a federal initiative funded through the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) seeking to address the many challenging health and environmental issues at hazardous waste sites. Our goal is to protect both human and ecological health through reserach-informed decision-making.

Program Theme

Our theme is Exposure to Toxic Metals and Childhood Neurological Development. With this focus, our researchers combine their diverse expertise at three hazardous waste sites: Tar Creek, Oklahoma, Mexico City, and Bangladesh. This collaborative approach allows us to apply creative solutions to the evolving problems of hazardous waste sites.
